It is my policy to respond to any person who chooses to make an inquiry about treatment.  I will make every effort to respond to an inquiry within 48 hours or sooner if the nature of the problem warrants it.  It does not matter if the focus is to enter treatment with me or discuss other possible alternatives to treatment.  You can elect to choose my services, but I will also direct you to another provider if my expertise does not correspond with your needs, provide information and/or possible resources to direct your efforts.

My treatment orientation is both cognitive and psycho-dynamic psychotherapy. Modalities include Relaxation Techniques,  Hypnosis, and  De-sensitization for Phobic and other stress related illnesses.  I am a very interactive therapist who has been responsive to the Managed Care directives that often limit the number of psychotherapy sessions.  The oftentimes short term treatment requirements has required the need for techniques that are more time limited and outcome focused.

The success of treatment requires the realization that your motivation and willingness to utilize the tools and insights gained in psychotherapy are as important as the competence and experience that I have acquired over my lifetime.  The journey that you and I embark on is jointly decided and not imposed by me. The journey is to enhance the  quality of your life by recognizing many of the self-defeating behaviors that continually erode your happiness.  You will hopefully abandon the self defeating thoughts, concerns, and behaviors that you have engaged in for many years.  Very often people,  as unhappy as they are, prefer to not  change because they are accustomed to feeling a certain way.  The greatest challenge is to abandon the fear of the unknown, and risk change.
