Welcome to the StephenMGuidoPhd.Com Service Page!

This page will eventually provide information about a number of resources that are available on the internet.  I hope to include a monthly newletter which will be emailed to those interested in receiving updated information on variours mental disoders, medication issues, parenting and marital concerns, and upcoming programs that can be accessed on public  and commercial broadcasting channels, cable television, without charge.

Having taught at a number of universities over the years in both New York and Florida (more recently for Phoenix University and Barry University 2003-2005), I have been afforded the opportunity to maintain a "pulse" on the most current research efforts and updated information concerning both the medical and mental health fields.

I have always enjoyed teaching, and have always incorporated readings, and up-to-date information on various aspects of mental functioning, including medication issues, the relationship between specific disorders and cognitive functioning, the influence upon sleep, appetite and sexual functioning, etc.  In my view, good psychotherapy includes not only the provision of insight but the education of the client to speed up the process of understanding.

Because of the pressures brought upon mental health treatment by Managed Care Companies, psychotherapy has to be limited or "short-term" because of the treatment schedules provided by the insurance companies.  Therefore, I am an educator as well as a therapist and the combination provides clients' insights from various sources in addition to those that occur in the therapy sessions.

In the meantime, please feel free to send an inquiry to me @steveg0129@verizon.net.  Be sure to indicate that your inquiry is the result of viewing my web page.  I will try to help you in any way that I can!
